Welcome to the website of the California Student Chapter of the Society for Marine Mammalogy. The primary goal of this chapter is to connect graduate students studying marine mammals in California and surrounding areas.  We also hope this chapter will be an excellent resource for undergraduates looking to learn more about graduate student research and gain experience. This student chapter was established in 2013 and followed shorty by our first annual conference where students had the opportunity to present their research in an informal setting, and meet and network with fellow students. The meeting was attended by undergraduate and graduate researchers from around California and we hope to follow up on the success of that meeting with our 2nd annual conference in May 2015.

This chapter is currently based out of the University of California Santa Cruz and is sponsored by Dr. Daniel Costa. Interested in becoming a member? Check out our membership page for more information. We also have a Facebook group page, and feel free to email us with any questions.
